Based on the lost Trojan War plays of the monumental Greek tragedian, AESCHYLUS::FRAGMENTS is an all-new collaborative creation combining expressionist dance and experimental music into a grisly and unnerving commentary on war, trauma, honour and fragmentation.
Ankoku Butoh, a Japanese expressionist dance tradition, forms the backbone of this new performative interpretation of Aeschylus’ works. The butoh style invites practitioners and audiences to explore the “darkness” within the body, the essence of memory, and the unknown before and after life.
